Although some CDL drivers are required to have a medical exam and associated medical certificate, the driver is no longer required to have this card in their possession. Non-CDL drivers still need to carry the medical certificate in their vehicle when they operate a large truck between 10,001 and 26,000 pounds unless they have a valid CDL.   If you are concerned about the driver’s medical ability, contact your Lead MCSAP Agency.  Contact information for the MCSAP agencies can be accessed at

How do the drivers find this out? As a CDL driver I did not know this. With all the recent changes it is difficult to stay informed and this fourm seems to help with that.
